- On April 1st. and October 1st of each year, we clean off everything placed on the graves. This process takes approximately 2 weeks. After that, you are welcome to replace what you wish on the grave.

- All plastic flowers and wreaths will be removed when their condition shows deterioration or weather damage.
- No animals shall be buried in the Bedford Cemetery.
- Cemetery is considered closed between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Any plot owner shall have the right to top dress, fertilize, and seed the family plot, but shall not excavate any soil without permission.
- All glass containers or wires considered hazardous to mower will be removed.
- No planting of trees, shrubs and rose bushes without approval of the township.
- All flowers and decorations shall be removed April 1 to April 30 and October 1 to October 30 of each year for cleaning purposes.

- Please do not throw rubbish or debris on a walk or driveway or on any part of the cemetery grounds.
- Do not pick or mutilate any flowers, either wild or domestic, or disturb any tree, shrub, or other plant material.
- The Township shall not be financially responsible for any damage to lots and structures or objects thereon, or flowers or articles removed from any lot or grave.
- All improvements to lots shall be done under the direction and with the approval of the Sexton. No tree or shrub shall be removed or pruned except under the direction and with the consent of the Sexton. The planting of flowers, perennials and shrubs over the lot will not be permitted.
- The Township shall provide the cutting and trimming of grass at reasonable intervals and such other care as is necessary to maintain uniformity in the appearance of the cemetery.
- Copings, fences, curbs, hedges, structures of wood or other equally perishable material are prohibited. Those structures or enclosures established on any lot previous to the adoption of these regulations which have, in the judgment of the cemetery management, become unsightly by reason of neglect or age shall be removed.
- No. elevated mounds shall be built over graves and no lot shall be filled above the grade established by the management.
- With the exception of the period from May 23 to June 6 each year, there shall be no more than two (2) urns per lot and no more than one(1) , 8 inch or larger potted plant, bouquet or wreath per lot. Anything in excess will be removed by the cemetery management. Flowers that have become unsightly will be removed. Glass containers will not be permitted.
- Artificial flowers will be allowed subject to #8. Arrangements shall be securely fastened in containers so they can not be pulled out.

Rules and Regulations:
- No children will be permitted unless accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for their conduct.
- General care of the cemetery is provided by the Township, includes keeping the grass cropped, trimming and keeping the roads in good condition.
- Cutting or otherwise disturbing the turf by a private individual is not permitted, and if done the reseeding or resodding will be done at the expense of the lot owner.
- The Township will not be responsible for loss of or damage to any article left upon any lot or grave or in any part of the cemetery.
- Lot owners must keep in good repair any structure or object which may be placed on the lot by their authority. failure to do so will compel the township to have the same removed or repaired at the expense of the lot owner.
- Lot owners are responsible for repairing their individual stones. If a stone becomes chipped or broken, the Cemetery Sexton will do whatever is reasonably possible to keep the stone pieces together until the owner can be contacted.
- As soon as flowers, wreaths, emblems, etc., used at funerals, or placed upon graves at other times, become unsightly and faded, they will be removed and no responsibility for their protection or maintenance will be assumed.
- The decoration of lots or graves with boxes, toys, balloons, shells, images, crosses, wire screens, arbors, trellises, tripods, and objects of similar description is prohibited as being inconsistent with modern usage and the desired appearance of the grounds.
- Glass jars or tin cans placed on graves as flower holders is strictly prohibited.
- No planting of trees, bushes or shrubs will be permitted except with permission from the Convis Township Board.
- Potted plants are welcome from May 15th to September 15th. All potted plants should be removed by September 15th.
- Grave blankets may be used from November 15th to March 15th of each year.

- All plantings of bushes and trees must be done so in writing to the Township Board for approval.
- Flowers can be placed in urns and perennial flowers that don't spread can also be placed at the edge of the maker foundation within reason.
- In the cemetery you might see a bench, or even a small fence around a particular space. Those were placed before the latest action of the Township Board.
- The cemetery is "stripped" of old flowers and grave blankets in October and in April. If people want to have their items to use another time they need to mark their calendars to get out to the cemetery and pull them off

Houston, Lyon Lake and Lutheran Cemeteries
Decorations:- Not more than one urn shall be permitted per lot. It is the lot owners responsibility (except endowed urns) to plant and maintain the urn. Urns not filled by July 1st. shall be removed by the Cemetery workers.
- In addition to an urn there shall be not more than one grave decoration, natural or artificial, per grave space. Anything in excess shall be removed the cemetery worker with approval of the Township Board.
- From May 23 to June 6th more than one decoration is permitted.
- Decorations must be placed in a hanging basket, flush container or a moveable, non breakable container.
- Winter grave decorations are permitted beginning October 31 through March 15th. Decoration not removed by March 16, shall be considered abandoned and will be disposed of by the Cemetery worker.
- Grave Blankets are allowed.
- Artifical flowers are allowed.
- Copings, fences, curbs, hedges, mounds, structures of wood or equally perishable material are prohibited. Any of the aforementioned or structures or enclosures established on any lot prior to the addition of these amended Rules.

Congregational Cemetery is located on H Drive So. across from the Congregational Church in Sections 28 and 29 of Leroy Township.
Mather Cemetery is located on5 Mile Rd. in Section 35 of Leroy Township.
Morgan Cemetery is located on Capital Ave. S.W., south of Battle Creek in Section 2 of Leroy Township
West Leroy Cemetery is located on C Drive So. near the corner of 1/2 mile road in Section 7 of Leroy Township.
The main gate, where applicable, shall be open from sunrise to sunset each day.Artificial decorations:
- One pot of plants, less than eight "8" inches in diameter may be placed at the head of each grave. An exceptions to this regulation is made for one year after burial. During this time more than one pot shall be permitted.
- Lot holder is responsible for the care of plants, urns, vases, pots, etc. Pots of dead plants will be removed as they detract from the appearance of the Cemetery.
- All winter artifical wreaths and sprays will be removed by May 1st.
- All summer artificial wreaths and sprays will be removed by October 1st.
- Any artificial decoration that detracts from the neat and orderly appearance of the Cemetery may be removed by the Sexton.
- In case of a burial, the same exception shall be made for cut flowers and potted plants, as for artificial wreaths and sprays.
- Plantings that do not accord with this ordinance or that have become unsightly, or that interfere with the rights of other lot owners, or make the care of the cemetery difficult and expensive, or that detract from the landscaping plan of the cemetery may be removed by order of the Supervisor of the Cemetery.
- No planting of trees or shrubbery on Cemetery lots are permitted.

- The Cemetery Sexton shall have the right and authority to remove and dispose of any and all growth, emblems, displays or containers therefore that through decay, deterioration, damage, or otherwise become unsightly, a source of litter or maintenance problem. The Township Clerk or the Cemetery Sexton may remove any of the forgoing items planted without such approval.
- All refuse of any kind or nature including, among others, dried flowers, wreaths, papers, and flower containers must be removed or deposited in containers located within the cemetery.

Cemetery Hours: Riverside Cemetery will be open to the general public during daylight hours or at the discretion of the Township Board.
Ground Maintenance:
- Cleanup of Riverside Cemetery will be April 1st.
- You may call the Township office at 517-767-3366 if you need help removing your decorations.
- Please be advised that fall clean- up begins October 9th. Please remove any or all decorations that you wish to keep before clean-up begins as they will be removed after that date by our authorized agent.
- You may start putting winter decorations back on November 15th.
- No grading, leveling, or excavating upon a burial space shall be allowed without the permission of the Township Board.
- No flowers, shrubs, trees, or vegetation of any type shall be planted without the approval of the Township Board. Any of the foregoing items planted without such approval may be removed by the Township.

Rules and Regulations for Leek Cemetery
- Dogs shall not be allowed on the cemetery grounds or in any of the buildings.
- All persons are prohibited from picking flowers or breaking or injuring any tree, plant or shrub on the cemetery grounds.
- The Sexton shall reserve the right to remove funeral designs as soon as they become unsightly.
- No artificial decorations (flowers, wreaths, blankets, balloons, plastic figures, ceramics, etc.), hanging plants, bird or animal feeders, and stuffed animals will be permitted.
- However artificial flowers, wreaths and grave blankets will be permitted from November 1st. to April 1st. Only. If such decorations are not removed by April 1st. they shall be considered abandoned and may be disposed of the the Sexton.
- Only sod which is adjacent to the marker or monument may be removed.
- All flowers must be placed in a 12-inch plot in front of or behind the marker or monument and may not extend beyond the edges of the marker.
- No stone, metal, plastic, or wood borders are permitted.
- No shrubs or trees are to be set out until the approval has been given by the Township Board.

Maple Ridge, Markham and Pioneer Cemetery (No longer in use)
Hours: Grounds are open from 8 A.M. until dusk Seven (7) days a Week
Winter Period: November 1 to March 31
Summer Period: April 1 to October 31
Maple Ridge, Markham and Pioneer Cemetery Rules:
- Animals are not permitted in the cemetery unless they are confined within the vehicle.
- Picking, mutilating or disturbing flowers, trees or shrubs or anything of memorial nature is prohibited.
- Veteran's and other service flags are allowed only during the Memorial Day period and only for ten days. (five days before and five days after Memorial Day) All special inscription markers and/or flag holders will be installed flush or will be removable. No other flags will be permitted.
- No roping, curbing, fencing, hedging, borders or enclosures of any kind are allowed on any lot. No edging, brick walks, aluminum stripping, marble chips, cinders, tile, terra cotta, sand, cement, gravel, wood or wood chips, etc. are allowed on any lot. The cemetery management reserves the right to remove any of the above if so erected or installed.
- Absolutely no memorials including, but not limited to, candles, decorative flags, stuffed animals, balloons, vases, etc. are allowed. These will be removed and discarded by cemetery personnel without prior notice.
- Winter Period: November 1 thru March 31st. Artificial arrangements, wreaths and statues may be placed during this period. These types of decorations remaining after March 31st will be removed and disposed of by cemetery personnel.
- Summer Period: April 1 thru October 31st. No artifical wreaths or flowers are allowed except beginning one week before and ending one week after Easter and Memorial Day. All artificial flowers and wreaths shall be removed and disposed of by cemetery personnel one week after Memorial Day.
- Planting of any kind is not allowed around flush markers nor is the turf to be disturbed in any way. If planting does occur, cemetery personnel will remove such planting without notification.
- On monument plots; flowers may be planted only after the upright monument has been placed. Planting is permitted up to 12" around the monument.
- Plantings with thorns are not permitted.
- The maintenance of the planted area is the responsibility of the plot owners. If the flowerbed or plantings become unsightly, or interfere with cemetery maintenance, it is the policy of the cemetery to mow, cut or remove said flowers or plantings.
- Plantings may not encroach on adjacent plots owned by others or interfere with cemetery maintenance.
- Cut flowers are permitted in an approved flower can during the summer period, and must be removed when they become unsightly.
- Each grave is allowed one flower can which must be of a type approved by the Sexton. Flower cans may be purchased through the Township Clerk's office and will be installed by cemetery personnel. Flower cans/vases that are integrated as part of the monument/marker design are permitted and may have more than one.
- The flower can is Not to be used as a container in which to plant flowers and if done so, the flowers will be removed.
- Containers such as, but not limited to glass jars, tin cans, buckets, etc. are not acceptable and will be removed by cemetery personnel without notice.
- One Hanging plant holder (Shepherd's Hook) is permitted per lot, and must not hold more than one hanging plant.
- Potted flowers and/or plants other than those on a hanging plant holder are allowed only on the following special holidays: Easter and Memorial Day. The earliest potted flowers and/or plants may be placed on the graves is the Friday prior to the holiday and are allowed to remain for ten days after the holidays stated. If they are not removed after ten days the cemetery personnel will discard them.
- Urns/planters are permitted and must be placed in line with the monuments as to not interfere with cemetery maintenance. The placement of urns/planters on any grave is subject to approval by the Sexton to assure there is adequate room for placement and that the urn/planter is made of concrete, clay or stone. No plastic urns/planters will be allowed, other than those on a hanging plant holder (Shepherd's Hook).
- No urns will be allowed on flush marker lots.
- Any urn that has been damaged, not used or becomes unsightly, may be removed by cemetery personnel. When possible the owner will be notified of removal.
- Planting of dwarf type bushes is permitted. Bushes may not encroach on adjacent plots owned by others or interfere with the maintenance of the cemetery. The diameter of the fully-grown bush should not be larger than the area of the monument/marker and the 12" planting area.
- Planting of trees is not permitted.
- The cemetery or a contractor thereof will trim shrubs once a year unless lot owners wish to do so at their own expense. Delhi Charter Township will assume No liability for personal injury or damage.
- the cemetery reserves the right to remove shrubbery or plantings that have been planted incorrectly, have overgrown, or are unsightly. When possible the lot owner will be notified of the need for removal. Otherwise, notification will consist of tagging the item and removal by cemetery personnel within ninety (90) days if not removed by owner.
- Any lot owner requesting removal of shrubs and/or trees shall contact the cemetery Sexton or Township Clerk and sign a request/release from liability form before removal by cemetery personnel.

Fairview Cemetery
Rules and Regulations:
- The Cemetery grounds are hereby declared to be private property and access thereto b the general public restricted, without specific permission from management, to the hours of 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. from March 1st, to October 15th. and the hours of (to be established seasonably ) from October 15th to March 1st.
- The Village reserves the right to perform all work for the care and upkeep of all burial spaces.
- Flowers, wreaths or emblems will be removed as soon as unsightly.
- The cutting or otherwise disturbing of sod is prohibited.
- Picking the flowers, wild or cultivated, the breaking or injuring of any tree, plant or shrub, or in anyway, injuring any monument, headstone, vault, ornament, or other structure or property within the cemetery is prohibited.
- Vases or urns not properly painted or otherwise cared for and those not filled with plants in any year, will be removed.
- Cut flowers will be allowed at any time when suitably placed. The Village suggest the setting of the patented flower vase which sets into the ground when not in use and leaves the surface of the burial space clear. Such a vase can be set adjacent to the maker and will be set for your convenience by the Village.
- The promiscuous planting of flower, perennials and shrubs over the lot is prohibited.
- Glass jars or metal cans or earthen vessels or dishes will not permitted in the cemetery for use of bouquet holders.
- Flower beds cannot be made without first obtaining the consent of the Superintendent.
- The planting of trees and shrubs within the limits of a burial space may be done only with the approval and under the direction of the Superintendent.
- If any tree, vine, shrub, plant, imitation flowers, wreaths or other grave decorations situated within and about a lot becomes unsightly, dangerous or detrimental, the Superintendent shall have the right to remove the same, or such parts thereof as may be deemed necessary.
- All flags placed on grave sites must be in good condition and mounted properly on removable poles or receptacles. The Village will not assume responsibility for placement, loss, or damage. The placement of small Veteran Flag is the responsibility of the Veteran Organization, Section 12 General Provisions.

Dogs, cats or other animals are not allowed on cemetery grounds and may be removed in such manner as may seem expedient.
Evergreen, Mount Hope and North Cemeteries:
Rules:- Permits are not required for annual flower bed plantings. For best results, planting of dwarf shrubs and /or dwarf evergreens should take place prior to Memorial Day or after Labor Day. Permits are required and should be obtained prior to the purchase of plant material. A list of approved species is available at the Cemetery Office.
- Annual flower beds are permitted from April 15th - October 1st and shall be located directly in front of and adjacent to a monument or to the rear of a marker and shall extend not more than eight inches from the base of a monument or marker.
- Flower pots are not allowed and will be removed and discarded.
- Cut flowers may be placed in an in-ground vase placed in those areas designated by the City.
- No perennial flowers, edging or decorative stones are permitted.
- Wreaths may be placed in the same position as cut flowers but are permitted only fro November 1st. to April 1st.
- The trimming, pruning or removing of any branch or bloom from any City planting in the cemetery is strictly prohibited.
- A receptacle for cut flowers is permitted if installed in the ground adjacent to marker or monument. The use of glass jars or other unapproved receptacles for cut flowers is strictly prohibited and such items will be removed.
- Artificial flowers, wreaths and grave blankets are permitted on cemetery sites from November 1st. to April 1st. and if not removed by April 1st. the City reserves the right of removal.
- The City of Lansing will furnish a suitable flag for the grave of every United States Military Service personnel for the memorial purpose of marking and designating each grave for Memorial Day.

Permitted:
- Fresh cut flowers are permitted in approved in-ground vases. See the cemetery office for approved vase specifications.
- Potted plants are permitted if placed on the marker itself or on a side of the monument. Only one potted plant permitted per lot in lieu of an approved flower bed. Unsightly, unapproved or potted plants which interferes with the orderly mowing of the cemetery will be removed.
- Flower bed are allowed on the grave side of the memorial (monument or marker). Only natural flowers are to be planted in approved flower beds. Flower beds are not to exceed 8 inches in width and the dimensions of the memorial in length.
- Wood or cedar chips and similar biodegradable materials may be used to decorate the flower bed.
- Flags may be placed on the grave of a veteran one (1) week before Memorial Day until Flag Day. After the above dates, flags will be removed and disposed of in the appropriate fashion.
- Remembrance Lights are allowed from after the spring until November 1st. Because of the damage to these lights in recent years, the Cemetery does not encourage their usage. The Cemetery will not replace damaged or stolen lights. These objects are placed in the cemetery at the owner's risk.
- Easter lilies are allowed Holy Week and the week following Easter.
- Grave blankets and wreath are allowed from November 1 - February 28. After this date, they will be discarded as weather and ground conditions permit.
- Trees and Shrubs and other such times without written permissions of management.
- Artificial flowers planted or left in the ground. Wires used to create these flowers can cause serious damage or injury if projected by the lawn mowers.
- Perennial plantings are discouraged. The wintertime activities in the cemeteries simply cannot protect permanent decorations from damage. Our families are not well served by any permanent decorations that must survive winter.
- Stones or rocks of any kind or color for any reason. These item can cause serious injury to visitors and memorial when projected by a lawn mower. The use of patio stones is also prohibited.
- Decorative borders of any kind around the memorial. The use of fences or part of fences of any kind.
- Glass, china or porcelain of any kind which when broken present a serious safety hazard.
- Temporary pin-type vases. The use of cans including those wrapped in aluminum foil to place flowers on a lot.
- Lawn decorations and statues of any other yard decorations. Experience has shown that these items tend to attract vandals in the cemetery.
- Knickknacks, toys, clothing, jewelry or any other object of value should never be placed on the lot, near the memorial or in the cemetery.
- Photos and decorations attached to a mausoleum crypt or niche will be removed without prior notice.
- Fresh cut flowers are not permitted in any mausoleum. Inquire at the Cemetery Office for specific mausoleum decoration policies.

- As soon as flowers, wreaths, emblems, etc., used at funerals, or placed upon graves at other times becomes unsightly and faded, they shall be removed and no responsibility will be assumed.
- One urn or one flower bed (1 ft length of marker or monument) will be permitted on a lot, providing it shall abut or be in between markers.
- No rose bushes or thorn bearing bushes shall be permitted.
- Artificial wreaths, blankets or flowers may be placed on lots November 1st to March 1st. If not removed by lot owner by March 1st, the Cemetery personnel will remove.
- The planting of trees and shrubs must be done only with the approval and under the direction of the Sexton.
- If any tree, shrub or plant situated within a lot becomes unsightly, dangerous or detrimental, the Cemetery personnel shall have the right to remove the same or such parts thereof as may be deemed necessary.
- No roping, curbing, fencing, hedging, borders, or enclosures of any kind are allowed on any lot. No edging, brick walks, landscape bricks or blocks, aluminum stripping, marble chips, stones, cinders, tile, terra cotta, sand, cement, gravel, wood or wood chips, decorative flags, toys, statues, personal items, etc., are allowed on any lot.
- No lot shall hereafter be set out or enclosed by any so-called fence, coping, hedge or flower border, wood or metal trellises. Wire and screens, and designs of any descriptions, rusty, unpainted or broken benches, seats, and vases, iron hooks from which baskets, bowls or flowers pots are suspended, and deemed unsightly will be removed. The Cemetery management reserves the right to remove any of the above if so erected, planted, placed or installed.
- Don't take flowers, perpetual wreaths, vases, flower holders, etc. from your neighbor's lot.
- Don't throw your rubbish on your neighbor's lot or in drives or tuck into shrubs, but place in receivers placed at convenient distances in the cemetery.
- Don't cut holes in sod and place flower pots therein for workmen to handle when mowing.
- Glass cans, tin cans or bottles are not allowed and shall be removed. Don't set potted plants individually.
Bell Oak, Mt. Calvary Catholic, Rowley and Shaftsburg Cemeteries.
Rules:- The Township reserves the right to remove or trim any tree, plant , shrub or ornamentation located within the cemetery in the interest of maintaining proper appearance and the use of te cemetery.
- No trees, shrubs, hedges, vines or other growing thing, shall be placed upon any lot except by approval of the Township Board, Clerk or Sexton. If permission is granted, plantings may not encroach on other burial sites or exceed thirty-six (36) inches in height.
- Flowers, trees or shrubs shall not be picked, disturbed or mutilated. Plantings without permission may be removed without notice.
- The Township Board, Sexton, or caretaker shall have the right and authority to remove and dispose of any and all growth, emblems, displays or containers therefore that though decay, deterioration, damage or otherwise become unsightly, dangerous, detrimental, diseased, a source of litter or a maintenance problem, or when they do not conform to the standards maintained.
- Flowers may be planted in a space not more than eighteen (18) inches square in front of a marker or at the head of the grave. Plantings shall not exceed three (3) feet in height above the ground and shall not extend past the burial site boundary while in full bloom. Items exceeding the allowable height and border standards may be removed by the Township. Surfaces other than earth or sod are prohibited. Holders are responsible for the care and maintenance of grave decorations.
- The use of jars, bottles, jugs and similar containers not designed for cut flowers is discouraged.
- No artificial flowers shall be permitted between April 1st. and November 1st.
- The use of landscape stones, decorative stones or artifical stones for decorative purposes are prohibited.
- All plastic, cement, fiberglass, metal and wood objects, except recognized American Veteran Flags, are prohibited unless otherwise approved by the Township.
- Candles are prohibited.
- Items in violation of the regulations may be removed by the Township.
- Grave blankets shall be allowed from November 1st until April 1st of each year. The Township may dispose of blankets which remain after April 1st.
- All refuse of any kind or nature including, but not limited to, dried flowers, wreaths, papers, and flower containers shall be removed or deposited in the appropriate area located to the back of the cemetery.
- The Township assumes no responsibility for damages incurred to any marker, urn, shrub, or plant that is unintentionally chipped, marred, marked, cut or damaged in the course of normal lot care.
- The Township shall furnish a suitable flag holder and United States flag for the grave of each veteran who served in the armed forces of the United States and who is buried within the limits of a cemetery belonging to the Township. The flag holder and United States flag shall be placed on the grave of each veteran for the purpose of marking and designating the grave for memorial purposes.

Maple Grove Cemetery Hours: From Sunrise to Sunset
Rules :
- The Cemetery Board of Trustees reserves the right to remove any tree, plant, shrub, or any other Object that violates Cemetery Rules and Regulations.
- The following material in any form will not be permitted: sandstone, slate, artificial stone, field stone, terra cotta, wood, iron, glass, unconsolidated material (i.e. wood chips, stone, etc.), and all kinds of landscape edging.
- Hanging baskets, wire baskets, glass covered or wood boxes, chairs, benches, settees and fencing are classified as undesirable ornaments in the Cemetery and are prohibited.
- Any person driving a vehicle in the Maple Grove Cemetery shall be responsible for any damage done to the Cemetery, including its privately-owned contents, by said vehicle.
- No person shall drive a vehicle in excess of 15 miles per hour on any Cemetery road, or drive off the established roads unless permission is given by the Cemetery Director.
- All dogs and other domestic animals are prohibited from running at large on the grounds, and the owners of same will be held responsible for any damage done.
- All persons are prohibited from picking any flowers or breaking or injuring any tree, plant, or shrub on the Cemetery grounds.
- The Cemetery Director shall reserve the right to remove funeral designs and floral pieces as soon as they become unsightly.
- Winter decorations, artifical flowers, figurines, and decorations (not to exceed 18 inches in height) may be maintained on graves from November 1 to April 1. If such decorations are not removed by April 1, they shall be considered abandoned and may be disposed of by the Cemetery Director.
- No sod may be removed from any Cemetery lot except within eighteen inches (18) of a marker or monument on the interment side for the purpose of planting flowers. All rose bushes containing thorns are prohibited.
- Any urn that has not been used for five (5) consecutive years may be removed from the Cemetery by the Cemetery Director of his/her designees.
- No shrubs or trees shall be planted until prior approval has been given by the Cemetery Director. Plantings will be permitted at the ends of the monuments. No shrubs or Trees will be permitted which will exceed five feet (5') at maturity.
- The Cemetery Director or his/her designees shall have the care of the Maple Grove Cemetery, and are hereby authorized to have removed all those who violate these rules or Commit trespass.
- The Cemetery Director and Board of Trustees have no private ends to sub serve or any pecuniary interests to benefit, and being proud of the beauty of Maple Grove Cemetery, will be pleased to consult with and advise lot owners looking toward further improvement of the grounds.
Eden, Hawley, and Rolfe Cemeteries
Hours: Hawley Cemetery will be open to the public seven (7) days a week from dawn until dusk.
Summer Period: April 1 to October 31. Winter Period: November 1 to March 31.
Rules:
- Artificial arrangements, wreaths and grave blankets may be placed during November 1st. thru March 31st. These types of decorations, remaining after March 31st., will be removed and disposed of by cemetery personnel.
- Dogs or any other animals are not permitted in the cemetery. They must be left in the vehicle.
- No artificial wreaths or flowers; except, one week before and one week after Memorial Day. All artificial flowers and other decorations will be removed and all disposed of by Vevay Township personnel after April 1st.
- Cut flowers are only allowed the summer period, and must be removed when they become unsightly.
- Containers such as, but not limited to, glass jars, tin cans, buckets, etc., are not acceptable and shall be removed by cemetery personnel without notice.
- On lots containing monuments, flowers may be planted only after the upright monument has been placed. Planting of any kind is not allowed around flush markers.
- Planting is restricted to an area up to 12" in front of monuments. Graves are further restricted to one shepherd's hook with hanging flower basket. The hanging of any other items from a shepherds hook is prohibited and such item will be removed by cemetery personnel. Any untended baskets which become unsightly will be removed by cemetery personnel.
- Planting should not be so tall as to prevent visibility of monument inscriptions.
- Potted flowers and/or plants are allowed only on special holidays for seven (7) days after the holiday and shall then be removed by cemetery personnel. The earliest that potted plants may be placed on graves is the Friday prior to the special holiday.
- No urns are allowed at any time on flush markers. Urns shall be allowed on monument rows with the Sexton's approval. However, if an urn is placed, no other planting shall be allowed.
- The maintenance of the planted area is the responsibility of the lot owners. If the flower bed or plantings become unsightly, it is the policy of the cemetery to mow or cut said flowers or plantings.
- No planting of any kind is allowed around flush markers, nor is the turf to be disturbed in any way.
- Any lot owner requesting removal of shrubs and/or trees shall contact the cemetery Sexton and fill out and sign a request/release before removal by cemetery personnel.
- The cemetery reserves the right to mow, trim or remove any area or planting that has been neglected or installed improperly.
- Trash containers are provided for the refuse of planting materials, dead flowers, and weeds, etc. Sod and dirt removed in order to plant flowers shall be taken away or properly disposed of in the trash containers provided, but shall not remain on the burial lot.
- Vevay Township shall assume No responsibility for damages in the case of any marker, memorial, urn, shrub, or planting being damaged in any way, during the regular course of lot care, maintenance, vandalism or subsequent burials.
- Veterans and other service flags are allowed from Memorial Day through the Labor Day holidays. Flags and holders are provided by Vevay Township only. All others will be removed by cemetery personnel.
- No roping, curbing, fencing, hedging, borders, or enclosures of any kind are allowed on any lot. No edging brick walks, aluminum stripping, marble chips, stones, cinders, tile, terra cotta, sand, cement, gravel, wood, or wood chips, decorative flags, toys, statues, personal items, etc. are allowed on any lot.
- The cemetery management reserves the right to remove any of the above if so erected, planted, placed or installed.
- The placement of urns on any grave is subject to approval by the Sexton. No other plantings shall be allowed with urn placement.
- Urns that are retractable or that are part of the monument's construction may be used.
- Urns that become unsightly, will be tagged and removed within ninety (90) days if not removed by the owner.
- The planting of shrubs and perennials is prohibited unless approved by the Township. Absolutely no rose bushes or shrubs with thorns or foliage that may cause injury to maintenance personnel shall be allowed.
- The cemetery will trim existing shrubs when it is deemed necessary, unless lot owners wish to do so at their own expense and with no cemetery liability for personal injury or damage.
- The cemetery reserves the right to remove shrubbery or planting that have been planted incorrectly, are overgrown, unsightly or otherwise prohibited; with or without notification. Notification will consist of tagging the item and removal within ninety (90) days.
- Vevay Township reserves the right to change and/or amend these rules and regulations in part or their entirety at anytime.
